A retired couple near Red Rocks wanted a composite deck for morning coffee and evening entertaining — something low-maintenance that fit the natural landscape and felt like it belonged, not like it was bolted onto the house. Their existing wood deck was 18 years old with extensive rot, failing stairs, and railing that didn't meet current code.
We demoed the old deck, poured new footings engineered for foothills soil conditions, framed the structure for local snow loads, and installed Trex composite decking with a Southwestern-Rustic railing design. We have a code-compliance specialist on the team who advises on deck-related code requirements — guardrail heights, baluster spacing, stair dimensions, ledger board connections, and structural load ratings. He doesn't perform inspections, but his guidance helps us plan and build decks that meet code requirements from the ground up.
