A family in Willowbrook had 800 square feet of unfinished basement they'd been using as storage for a decade. They wanted two bedrooms (one for their teenager, one for guests), a full bathroom, and a media area. The subfloor had a two-inch slope from one end to the other, and three of the existing support posts were shimmed with scrap wood from the original builder.
We leveled the subfloor, replaced the shimmed posts with proper adjustable columns, framed the walls for both bedrooms, the bathroom, and the media area, installed all door and window headers, ran electrical for 14 recessed lights, 12 outlets, and 4 switches, roughed in plumbing for the bathroom (toilet, vanity, shower), hung and finished drywall throughout, painted every surface, installed LVP flooring, and finished with baseboard, door casing, and trim. We also built a custom entertainment center in the media area and under-stair storage with shelving.
The family's teenager moved in three days after we finished. Completed in 24 days with daily cleanup — the family used the main level normally throughout the entire project.
